Congrats to Former BPI Intern Michael Janusek on Receiving the 2014 Kale Williams Award!

Michael Janusek – 2013 summer intern with BPI – and Risa Visina have been named as recipients of the 2014 Kale Williams Award for Exceptional Work in Promoting Human Rights and Social Justice by our friends at Loyola’s Center for Urban Research and Learning (CURL). Each year this award is given to two CURL undergraduate or graduate fellows who exemplify the work and ideas of Kale Williams, who served as senior scholar in residence at CURL for ten years.

Among his many accomplishments, Kale worked with Dr. Martin Luther King to create equitable housing opportunities in Chicago. The award serves as a reminder of his spirit and CURL’s ongoing commitment to partnerships and collaboration with organizations like BPI and others in the Chicago Region and beyond. Read more about the award on CURL’s blog.
