BPI Board Endorses Independent Map Amendment

Independent Map Amendment graphicThe Independent Map Amendment, which the BPI Board of Directors has officially endorsed,  has garnered enough signatures to qualify for appearance on the Nov. 8 ballot.  The right to appear on the ballot is being challenged in the Illinois courts, and is expected to reach the Illinois Supreme Court later this summer.  The Independent Map Amendment takes responsibility for drawing state legislative boundaries away from politicians, and gives it to an independent redistricting commission.

Independent Map supporters have  launched a TV ad pointing out that under Illinois’ current system, career politicians are able to draw their own district boundaries, making it impossible for them to lose an election.   Check it out below, and be sure to share it with your friends and colleagues.
