Amar Parikh Joins BPI’s Board of Directors

Amar Parikh joined the University of Chicago’s Office of Civic Engagement in October 2013. He has over 15 years of experience developing and implementing strategies, systems, policies, and procedures. In his role as Chief of Staff, Amar leads the operational management of the department with oversight over strategic, research, communications, and financial initiatives. Collaborating with senior members of the Civic Engagement team, the University community, and external partners, he is responsible for ensuring the implementation of these key initiatives.
Amar brings significant experience in supporting senior-level management to this new role. He previously served as vice president for corporate affairs, which included acting as chief aide to the president of Ariel Investments, LLC. While at Ariel, he helped lead a multiorganizational team that produced the Ariei-Aon Hewitt Study, the largest ever analysis of 401k plans by race.
Amar received BS degrees in finance and business administration from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He also earned a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
