The Housing Illinois campaign creative is targeted to individuals undecided about the need for more affordable housing. It attempts to address false stereotypes and common misperceptions about what affordable housing looks like and who the people are who live in it. It makes the case that a community is strengthened when a range of housing options is available because "We Need the People Who Need Affordable Housing."
The creative materials were created and produced by Zimmerman & Markman, a California-based communications firm specializing in issue-oriented campaigns.
To develop its campaign, Housing Illinois undertook one of the most comprehensive surveys of public attitudes toward affordable housing ever conducted. Belden, Russonello & Stewart, a Washington, D.
