Guacolda Reyes and Adam Gross Named to Mayor’s Affordable Housing Task Force
On Monday, July 21, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Alderman Ray Suarez (31st ward) announced the creation of an Affordable Housing Task Force. Among the Task Force members–comprised of community leaders, City Council members, and developers–are BPI Director of Affordable Housing Adam Gross and BPI Board Director and Vice President of Community Development at The Resurrection Project Guacolda Reyes.
The Task Force has 65 days to make recommendations to the city on ways to reform Chicago’s Affordable Requirements Ordinance (ARO), with the goal of adding 1,000 affordable housing units over the next five years.
“The ARO is a critical tool for creating affordable housing options for Chicago residents,” said Alderman Suarez, “This Task Force will help us strengthen the ARO to greatly increase the amount of affordable housing units it creates.”
BPI is proud to be a part of this important initiative, and we’ll keep you posted on the Task Force’s progress. Click here to read the press release issued by the Mayor’s Office.
