Jeff Nelsen, PhD, Targeted Leadership Consulting, Co-Founder and Senior Partner 

Co-founder and partner with Targeted Leadership Consulting and former co-director of the New England School Management Program in Boston, Dr. Nelsen has provided training and coaching to more than 2,000 principals and school leadership teams over the past decade, helping schools set and meet rigorous, measurable student learning goals. Previously, Dr. Nelsen was a teacher and principal for 21 years in California. The last school he directed received both state and national recognition for its dramatic increase in student performance.

With a Ph.D. in organization and policy studies, Dr. Nelsen has taught graduate students at several universities over the years, and is the former director of the Harvard/ACSA Principals Institute at the University of California-Los Angeles.

Nelsen’s articles arising from TLC’s work are regularly published in leading education journals. 

 

Sara Exposito, Senior Associate with Targeted Leadership Consulting

Dr. Sara Exposito is currently an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Education at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Exposito has been a teacher, professor and consultant in the field of education for the past twenty years. Her area of expertise is language, literacy and culture.  Dr. Exposito has consulted in districts throughout the United States helping schools evaluate, organize and improve instruction for English learners.
